William Wilson and Auster

Thank you for adding a reference for your addition to the article on William Wilson (short story) and the character in Paul Auster's novel. To be clear, however, your citation should specifically note the connection between Auster's character and Poe's. Is there an understanding of how the two characters are connected? I am, of course, assuming good faith that your citation makes that connection and the footnote does not merely support the general line, The novel uses intertextuality to explore the nature of identity and reality. Also, it would be helpful if you cited the actual essay and the author, rather than a general notation to the collection and its editor. Thanks. I copied the citation and its formatting from the Paul Auster page, though I added the specific page number myself. I found a digital version of the source on Google Books, which is actually searchable. Just be cautious that your personal experience is not relevant here (see WP:OR, for example), which is why we rely on reliable published sources to say what we need.
