Copyright problem: Bliss (Charity)[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Bliss (Charity), but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.neonatal.org.uk/documents/4304.pdf, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under allowance license, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Bliss (Charity) saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Ash (talk) 11:03, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Update regarding copyright concern[edit]

Since we do not yet have verification of permission by the processes set out above and sufficient time has passed since the placement of the notice, the article has been deleted for copyright concerns. This deletion is not necessarily permanent. If you have already sent a letter to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) and GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) (if you are not the copyright holder or have co-authored the material, release under CC-BY-SA-compatible license alone is sufficient), the article will be restored when that letter is received and processed by the Wikimedia Communications committee. Likewise, if you have not yet sent a letter, you still may (or resend it, if you believe your original may have been lost), and the article will be restored when that letter is received and processed.

As Wikipedia does not require proof of identity on account creation, it is essential that we receive external proof of authorization in order to ensure that we remain compliant with US Copyright law. It is also essential that we verify that copyright holders understand the extent of the release they are authorizing, in that our licenses permit modification and reuse in any forum, even commercial publication, as long as authorship credit is maintained and future copies are compatibly licensed.

Please note that once permission is verified, the material may be evaluated and altered to meet Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Although we appreciate donations, we cannot guarantee that material donated will be retained.

Thank you. MLauba (talk) 12:41, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reposted dialogue from Talk:Bliss (charity)

Hi, My partner works at the charity concerned and as a favour to a colleague of hers, I said I would create the page for the charity, as it couldn't be done my a member of staff. Bliss is quite rightly trying to increase awareness of problems that premature babies and their parents face in the UK. As an avid reader of Wikipedia, I felt confident in starting the page, but clearly lack the skills to keep it within wiki guidelines. I have forwarded the relevant email to the copyright permissions and I hope this is enough to keep the page up and running. Rich4bliss (talk) 22:26, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rather than cut & pasting the charity brochure wholesale, consider creating a brief skeleton or summarizing the key points about the organization (members of the board, when it was founded, how monies are raised and spent...) and adding links to the official site for more information. The original text was clearly promotional rather than encyclopaedic. You may find the guidance of WP:NPOV and WP:COI useful when you get to replacing the article. Note that there is nothing to stop a member of staff contributing but the same principles apply and it would probably be advisable to declare any interest up front, stick to discussing improvements on this talk page and pointing to appropriate material (like recent independent newspaper reports or journal articles for inclusion). File copyright problem with File:Blisslogo.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Blisslogo.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:00, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
