The first six months of my talk page.
Greetings
Hi,
I noticed you were new and had been editing football articles, so I thought I'd give you a few links that it took me a while to find. Hope they're useful.
- User:Sjorford/Football - comprehensive list of football articles on Wikipedia
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Football - place to discuss football articles
- Wikipedia:Wikiportal/Association football - good page for editors who are interested in football

Good work on the Glory hunter article. Mark272 17:12, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
Perhaps your section could be moved into a new article about the rising commercialisation in football, with a link to this article and vice versa. Mark272
Regarding FYROM vs Macedonia
Talk:Republic_of_Macedonia#Change_of_FYROM_to_.22The_former_Yugoslav_Republic_of_Macedonia.22
Sure, you can use UN provisional reference "the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" (no FYROM), but even it is agreed by our government, it is offensive. I might believe that using 2 letter and 3 letter ISO codes in the tables (MK and MKD) might help a lot. Here's this list for the other countries too: ISO 3166 Codes (Countries) And Wikipedia agrees that the name of my country is solely Republic of Macedonia and mentions that UN is using some other reference...

- R.Macedonia is quite OK. Thanks, Kirev 01:25, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Superslum
Automobiles led me to realize that I live in a "super-slum," Slumgum. I recently espied the name Slumgum, which resembles my name. I'm currently working on generating articles about the contributors to the New International Encyclopedia. Superslum 00:15, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
Gordon Smith
Are you going to write an article on the Gordon Smith who played for Rangers and Brighton? PatGallacher 21:56, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

I award User:Slumgum this barnstar in recognition of his tireless contributions to the FA Cup Finals article. Robdurbar 08:49, 18 January 2006 (UTC) |
Football Aid
I've noticed you did an edit on Kaká back a while ago. I nominated the article at Football Aid/Article Improvement. Maybe you can help out by voting and do more edits. There are also more articles you can do and you can nominate articles yourself.Kingjeff 00:39, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
Shearer
Thanks for pointing out my goal count revert cockup. I should learn to read small print :) IainP (talk) 12:27, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
Anton Ferdinand
Thanks for that correction. I did correct that in my draft, but then my PC crashed before I saved. I'd forgotten about that. Well done for noticing ;-) - Nzd (talk) 01:57, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

I have responded to your ref desk post. Shaggorama 05:33, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
→ 2008 European Football Championship (qualifying)
Hi, you left out Moldova vs. Greece in Group C fixtures for September 2 for Euro 2008 but I added it. Don't know if it is in the proper sequence (i.e. 1st, 2nd, or 3rd game of the day), but at least it's included. User:169.133.253.10
Hi Slumgum - I'm thinking of requesting a renaming of Category:England footballers to Category:England international footballers, for the reasons laid out in Category talk:England footballers (too similar, naming scheme becomes problematic when extended to other countries). Do you have any objections? Qwghlm 11:05, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
- Well, category renamings have to be discussed & voted on as per deletions etc. but the grunt work in actually doing the recategorising is done by bots, so it's just a matter of getting a consensus in favour. I've done the hard bit and listed the proposed move for both categories at Categories for deletion (confusingly, it's where moves as well as deletes are discussed), so do make your opinion known there too. Thanks. Qwghlm 23:03, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
re: tables
Hi! Thanks for advice - that's my first day as wiki editor. Do you know a fast way to convert from HTML to wiki code? 'cause otherwise it would take ages to change. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sergiyprotsiv (talk • contribs)
Footballer of the year
Yes, I know about the awards but I feel that overall Keane was a bigger influence in the 90s than the 00's and Zola the other way round, it seems to be convention not to have players in two decades (unlike managers). Bob Palin 02:08, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Gilberto Silva
Thanks for your changes on the Gilberto Silva article.
Where did you find his correct club appearance/goal stats, and what competitions count towards said totals?
Cheers. GilbertoSilvaFan 15:34, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks!
Thanks for the quick answer at the Reference desk! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jp3z (talk • contribs)
A-Team.
Oh, okay. Actually, funny thing is, I didn't realise until after editing, and referencing the talk page, that both the edit, and the talk page comment to which I referred were both made by you. In essence, I unwittingly told YOU to "see talk page", to see the comment YOU had just left. I felt a right fool, but I now understand what happened. Cheers! (Do they still say "Cheers" over there? Wavy G 23:02, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Alrighty then. Y'all come back now, ya hear? "Ye-haw." Wavy G 05:37, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Forgive me again. That just screamed "vandalism" to me. Wavy G 11:18, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Dave Bennett
I noticed you'd moved the page from David Bennett (footballer) to Dave Bennett, but moving articles by cutting and pasting causes problems with the edit histories, so I fixed it by deleting Dave Bennett and recreating it using the page move function. I'm pretty sure I didn't lose any content by doing so, but you might want to check it. If you want to move a page in future and aren't able to use the move function please get an admin to do it or list it at Wikipedia:Requested moves as it can be a pain in the arse to fix the edit histories once someone has edited the moved article. Thanks, CTOAGN (talk) 23:07, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
What an ass
You really think "I AM RIGHT!!!!!!" is an appropriate thing to leave in a change comment?
—Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.57.111.238 (talk • contribs)
- On its own, no. When I am right and another person has wrongly reverted my edit, "rv to last version by me. I AM RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!" is an entirely appropriate thing to leave in a change comment. Think. Slumgum | yap | stalk | 20:29, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
Club Emblems
Hey,
I noticed that using club emblems on non-club pages was totally fine, see here, among hundreds of other pages...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yugoslav_League_Championship http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coupe_d%27URSS_de_football
If this somehow contradicts the fair law use, I can change the copyright info from Logo to the following...

Gimme a heads up really quick, because these are really useful graphics..
--Palffy 21:17, May 15, 2006 (UTC)
- I'm looking around the web for the legality of this issue and I will post it somewhere if I can find something. I deleted the cumulative table on purpose actually, because it had no date when it was last update (and I imagine would be a pain to maintain considering theyre only 2-3 regular Ukraine footy updaters..) But yea, apparently its permitted in Ukraine, so if it comes down to it, I can change the copyright info on the logos. I'll keep you updated on this and thanks for bringing this to my attention. --Palffy 21:39, May 15, 2006 (UTC)
- After further research, you were correct to make this assumption. Although this will not specifically to the case because of Ukraine copyrights, it will hold true for other football logos, until Wikipedia changes its policy. Read my response here. Thanks, --Palffy 22:50, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
