Orphaned non-free image File:Wediko 75th logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Wediko 75th logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Your addition to Boston Marathon has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. Hi, Swgradstudent. On my talk page, you asked for advice on improving Wediko Children's Services consistent with Wikipedia policy and guidelines.

To get started, it would be helpful for you to acquaint yourself with the information listed on the following pages that are commonly recommended to new contributors:

I realize that there's a lot to digest there. With respect to Wediko, it's critical to remember that Wikipedia has a neutral point of view. Article content should be objective, and the tone should be neutral. In contrast, the Wediko article, as currently written, reads like a promotional brochure. For an example of the difference, compare the way the Wediko article is written with the way somewhat similar information is presented in Family Foundation School.

Additionally, since it appears that you have some sort of affiliation with Wediko, you need to be mindful of Wikipedia's policy on conflict of interest.

I'm pleased to see how you have improved the article. I removed the advert template.

A major improvement that still needs to be made is to provide inline reference sources for the article content. Instead of listing third-party articles about Wediko (such as the one in Time magazine) as evidence of recognition, cite those publications in the article as sources of information about the program. Those third party articles probably also can enrich the article by providing details and contextual information that aren't in Wediko's own sources. --Orlady (talk) 16:35, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
