Baylis House

I spent quite a bit of time on the Baylis House article, got permissions and photographs (yet to be added) and wondered why it was deleted.Waynercook (talk) 04:41, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

The problem was that it was a direct copy of the website, which specifically stated that all material on the site is copyrighted. If you hold the copyright or can get the owner to donate the material to wikipedia, then the material has a better chance of being included, as long as it is not overly advertising in nature. You can find more info on donating copyrighted materials at WP:DCM.--Terrillja talk 05:01, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

The copyright holder gave [permission and I noted that. I also revised the who;le article. Please restore it so that I can add photos (supplied and released by the coyright holder). Waynercook (talk) 10:44, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Baylis House permission

Below is a copy of an email string regarding permissions:

Hello, Tony:

Sorry it has been a while.

I prepared the article and added it to Wikipedia, but it was deleted within a day as someone decided I did not have permission. I will copy your email to the reviewer and see if that helps.

My interest in Baylis House is twofold: I love old English houses (and have little chance to visit them as I moved to Canada for the last part of my career). Also, I was one of the first computer boffins who studied there under Kit Grindley in the early days of non-military computing. It is ironic that the new generation is censoring those who made it possible!

I'll keep you posted, and thanks for your help.

Best regards:

Wayne R. Cook

Marigold

Hi there. I was hoping a Wikipedia regular could intervene because I'm not one. A user named WesleyDodds keeps trying to delete the Marigold (song) page but he's doing it in a tricky way; he doesn't actually delete it, he just re-directs to Heart-Shaped Box, thereby requiring no consensus from the wikipedia community. He's been doing it over and over again, if you look at the page history. On the talk page there's some pretty good arguments as to why the song is notable, but he continually just declares "soong is not notable" without any support for this statement. Can you help?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.71.69.114 (talk) 19:58, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
