Images of popes[edit]

Hi Tonc26,

I've just reverted many of the changes you made to images of the Popes. All of the images you added were from fanciful 19th century sources (Either The Lives and Times of the Popes or Round Portraits of Popes in Saint Paul Outside the Walls).

Such images have been decided are worse then useless when put in info boxes as most are completely disconnected from reality. You can view this decision at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Catholicism/Archive 2020#RfC on non-contemporary images of popes (see also WP:PORTRAIT an excellent essay on this topic more broadly)

In addition many of your changes replaced more contemporary images without changing the captions so a low quality 19th century image would be marked with the incorrect info. Please be careful to update (or remove) a caption that is no longer correct.
