My apologies[edit]

Sorry, WikiOriginal-9, I thought I had used my edit summary here. The colors are not really readable and white is a better font color that complies more with WP:CONTRAST. Have a good one! Corky 02:00, 6 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You are invited to join the discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Continuous IP disruption on NFL subjects. I'd like to thank you for being backup when I could not locate a source for this IP's unsourced additions, but many of the edits have been speculative. Would you be willing to comment? jd22292 (Jalen D. Folf) (talk • contribs) 04:04, 18 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Debartolo2917 edits[edit]

Hi, I see that you've been reverting Debartolo2917. I also reverted some of their edits, but after reviewing my diffs I noticed that Huggle started to get to me, I'm seeing vandalism where there isn't any (well, at least not the way I saw it). As I'm not really into American football (and I'm not sure what his edits meant), I decided to revoke my warnings to the user and apologize. Anyway, just wanted to let you know if they mention that another editor was OK with their edits - I just decided to undo some of my actions, and let more experienced users handle this. Your GA nomination of Josh McCown[edit]

The article Josh McCown you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Josh McCown for things which need to be addressed. Why are you separating out the AP Positions in All-Pro Teams[edit]

Look, I get that the AP does that, but the notations at the bottom of the page can take care of that. I think there needs to be a consensus of editors before you just do that. The average reader of Wiki is going to find that confusing. I have written a book on All-Pros and I find what you did confusing. I know all your arguments that you will use so spare me.

Let's get other editors to give their opinions, meanwhile, the articles need to go back to the way you found them and before you ruined them is a technicality that make the article usless 69.130.16.203 (talk) 04:43, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't Zack Martin a right guard. [1] The previous version had him listed as a PFWA All-Pro at left guard. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 06:11, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Did you complete the process described at Wikipedia:Good_article_nominations/Instructions#Passing?--04:56, 2 February 2018 (UTC)

Sorry, I forgot to list it. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 05:48, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:CAN-AM-Logo.png[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:CAN-AM-Logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:32, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Edits[edit]

Hey. Can you please add an explanation or summary when you make edits. On Josh McCown you removed aloy of information with no explanation specified. Also you remove the year on some edits. I understand that the title says 2016 and you remove it because you personally think it's better, but keeping the year doesn't hurt anybody and gives the reader more information and an accurate date. When the header says 2016 and some events during the 2016 season don't take place in 2016. For example, Sometimes Week 17 of the regular season falls under the following year and Pro Bowls and Playoffs. When you make an edit your supposed to include an explanation under "How did you improve the page?" After you make your edit and save it it's the next page that comes up so you can't miss it. Upcoming changes to wikitext parsing[edit]

Hello,

There will be some changes to the way wikitext is parsed during the next few weeks. It will affect all namespaces. You can see a list of pages that may display incorrectly at Special:LintErrors. Since most of the easy problems have already been solved at the English Wikipedia, I am specifically contacting tech-savvy editors such as yourself with this one-time message, in the hope that you will be able to investigate the remaining high-priority pages during the next month.

There are approximately 10,000 articles (and many more non-article pages) with high-priority errors. The most important ones are the articles with misnested tags and table problems. Some of these involve templates, such as infoboxes, or the way the template is used in the article. In some cases, the "error" is a minor, unimportant difference in the visual appearance. In other cases, the results are undesirable. You can see a before-and-after comparison of any article by adding ?action=parsermigration-edit to the end of a link, like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Foss?action=parsermigration-edit (which shows a difference in how {{infobox ship}} is parsed).

If you are interested in helping with this project, please see Wikipedia:Linter. There are also some basic instructions (and links to even more information) at https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-ambassadors/2018-April/001836.html You can also leave a note at WT:Linter if you have questions.

Thank you for all the good things you do for the English Wikipedia. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 21:18, 19 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Warning users when reverting them[edit]

Hey, I notice you reverted a bunch of edits that User:James.moon91 made back in March -- he was adding incorrect years to NFL players' career histories. He has since continued making unconstructive edits. Since you caught him earlier on, it would have been helpful if you had raised a flag by leaving him a talk page message. Thanks, IagoQnsi (talk) 21:58, 19 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Amarillo Dusters logo.gif[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Amarillo Dusters logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 12 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Joe Callahan (quarterback) listed at Redirects for discussion[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Joe Callahan (quarterback). Since you had some involvement with the Joe Callahan (quarterback) redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 22:07, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:John Beckett (American football).jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:John Beckett (American football).jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Brian Halvorsen (talk) 05:54, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2018 election voter message[edit]

Hello, WikiOriginal-9. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
