Viktor Djukanovic is a Montenegrin professional footballer who plays for Montenegrin First League club Budućnost Podgorica and the Montenegro national football team as a winger.

Club career

FK Buducnost Podgorica

Djukanovic started his youth career with FK Sutjeska Nikšić, before transferring to Budućnost Podgorica in 2019.

2020-21

He made his debut for the first team against Rudar Pljevlja in a 4–2 win, scoring the fourth goal of the game, coming on as a substitute, and scoring within two minutes, at just 15 years old.[2] Djukanovic played sporadically for the rest of his breakthrough season, including scoring his second career goal in a 4–1 win over OFK Petrovac, this time scoring just one minute after coming on.[3] That season, Djukanovic helped Buducnost to the Montenegrin League title and the Montenegrin Cup, making 23 appearances and scoring 3 goals.[4]

2021-22

In the 2021-22 season, Djukanovic established himself as a more regular starter, starting 21 games, and making 31 appearances, at just 17 years old. He scored a total of 9 league goals. He also made his European debut in the Champions League qualifying rounds against HJK Helsinki, losing 7–1 on aggregate.[5] Overall, Djukanovic scored 13 goals and made 38 appearances, helping the club to a runners-up position in the Montenegrin League, and the Montenegrin Cup.

2022-23

Djukanovic started the season scoring 2 goals in the Europa Conference League against Llapi,[6] sending Buducnost to the next round, where they would eventually be knocked out by Breiðablik.

International career

Djukanovic has played for Montenegro's U17, U19, U21 and senior teams. He made his debut for the U17 team in a 2–1 loss to Bosnia & Herzogovina.[7] He has made 9 appearances and scored 4 goals for the U17 side. He's made 3 appaerances for the U19 side, made 2 appearances and scored 2 goals for the U21s.[8]

Djukanovic made his senior national team appearance as a late substitute in a UEFA Nations League match against Romania.[9]
