A weekday is any day of the week except Sunday and often also Saturday.[1][2][3]

"Weekday" usually means the same as workday, however in some countries with a five-day workweek, the term weekday may still retain the old meaning "all days except Sunday", from when most people worked on Saturdays.

Weekday is sometimes confused with calendar day, which is any of the days of the week.

In most countries, the days of the workweek are:

  1. Monday
  2. Tuesday
  3. Wednesday
  4. Thursday
  5. Friday

Many timetables are different on weekdays, such as radio and television schedules, parking restrictions, and shop opening hours.
