Conclusions[edit]

(basically a summary of Avocado's proposal below)

  1. Articles that contain substantial amounts of useful information about the area code should be kept, but renamed so that its title indicates which country it's in.
  2. Stub articles on area codes should be merged and redirected into a comprehensive list, preferably one without redlinks.
  3. If and when enough additional information is added that an area code's description no longer fits into the list format, the information should be moved into a separate article.

More and more articles about specific area codes (mostly North American) have been popping up lately, and considering the consensus on Postal Codes, I thought I discussion was needed on notability. --InShaneee 21:48, 3 Apr 2005 (UTC)

North American area codes[edit]

Uncle G's major work 'bot is about to move another ... er ... small hill. But a consensus is required on the naming scheme to be employed. Please review Category:Greek Area Codes, Category:United Kingdom area codes, and Category:North American area codes, and then contribute to the discussion at Talk:North American Numbering Plan#US-centric_area_code_page_titles.
