Gazpacho's proposal[edit]

Streamline the existing VfD process.

  • The per-day VfD pages become categories, and VfD discussions move to article talk pages. No more sea of unrelated discussions. It also ensures that people see the article before they vote on it.
  • Only votes of "keep" or "delete" are counted. Anything beyond "keep" can be handled after the article leaves VfD. This addresses counting ambiguities.
  • Any user can tally and close a vote after 5 days. Such articles go into a closing queue for 2 days. This reduces the burden on admins.
  • Any user can request admin review of an article in the queue, giving a reason for the review. This checks vandalism and allows admins to weigh late-breaking info. Unlike VfU, users can request review before the article disappears.
