F-35 Joint Strike Fighter[edit]

I have nominated this article, because I originally nominated this for FAC, but failed. It has since achieved good article status, but another member of WP:Air suggested that I put this article up for peer review. Anyone have any ideas on how to improve the article? --The1exile 16:10, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

These are my suggestions:

  • Image:JSF logo.jpg has no source information; unless a source can be provided the picture will have to be removed, and will likely end up being deleted.
  • Consider listing the information under the "Specifications (F-35 Joint Strike Fighter)" heading in an infobar, this may help make the article more asthetically pleasing to the eye. This tactic is commonly used on the various ship pages here.
  • Consider losing the trivia section; some editers here will mark down for it. If you want to keep the section I suggest renaming it "Miscellaneous" and condensing the game appearences into one entry. I did this after recieving a few complains from editers about the trivia section for the carrier USS Enterprise, and no one has since complained.
  • See if you can add a few pictures in the body of the text, the area seems a little text heavy.

Other than that, I think it looks good. TomStar81 01:13, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The JSF logo can be found on various websites covering the JSF. Can you give me a link for help on sourcing and copyright?
Infobars, as well as infoboxes, are not in accordance with WP:Air standards, and I got bitten for trying to move it around when this article was nominated for FAC. Same goes for Trivia section.
Pictures are hard to find with sourcing and no copyright on a highly restrictive media scope.--The1exile 17:09, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sourcing and copyright is covered very generally at Wikipedia:Cite Sources. You may also want to check out the templete No Source for more information. Speaking simply, what the image needs is the web address where it was found so that others can check the site to confirm its use under fairuse. TomStar81 18:42, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Web address? That I can do. I've added the sentence "From JSF.mil" on the image page, but I'm not briliant with image editing. If I should put that somewhere else then tell me, I can't find much at WP:CITE. --The1exile 21:03, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The web address is all thats needed. The logo is clear now, so that should no longer be an issue. TomStar81 23:32, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • If the goal is to make this a FA, then the "Trivia" section has to go. If it is just a list the video games that featured this plane, then consider moving it to the "Media" section or renaming it to "Video game adaptions". Either way, provide prose to explain what is going on (what featured means, this plane's role in the game, what is happening in the video, etc.). Prose would be especially useful in helping the reader understand the "Design" section. --maclean25 20:06, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
