Firefox misbehavior[edit]

I have Firefox (current version, on current MacOS) set to toss cookies (ha ha) on exit. Lately it tends also to forget new bookmarks and recent history, though not the open tabs. Suggestions? —Tamfang (talk) 20:38, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Start keeping cookies again? Ruslik_Zero 20:52, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Tamfang: I'd bet it's a broken/corrupt places.sqlite file. Try to open up your profile folder and then find places.sqlite, and rename it to something like places.sqlite-old. You have to close Firefox completely before you do that. – Frood (talk) 03:13, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If you care about your bookmarks, etc. you should also start backing up your Firefox profile if you don't already (as well as anything else on your system you want to preserve). A Web search for "firefox backup profile" will give lots of advice and tricks for doing so. Mac OS has Time Machine (macOS) built-in, and you might find that useful. --47.155.96.47 (talk) 01:56, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
