Eskrima[edit]

Dear All

I have become interested into practicing a martial art in the recent year and was wondering whether or not someone of you could help me. There is a martial arts school close to where I live and I was wondering, whether or not these people are good fighters or not. They are members of a martial arts brand, which has put a tv report video on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTCXJ86sxrk), which I unfortunately cannot understand (my mother language is Italian, I do not understand German). Given that I am a total noob, I was wondering whether or not someone of you could tell me, if these guys are genuine Eskrimadores or not. Please give me some details, how I can recognize good Eskrima from bad Eskrima.

Thank you all very, very much.

Eskrima initially lacked the belt rankings common in other martial arts, but it has been recently added. So, I'd ask how many black belts they have as instructors. If they have none, they probably aren't very good. StuRat (talk) 16:25, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
There are instructor certification bodies for the sport. See Here for example. They would likely be the way that genuine Eskrima instructors are sorted out from the unqualified. --Jayron32 16:47, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Parts of the question may be unanswerable, but it appears we have an article on the subject, so it's possible the OP can find at least some useful information there. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 11:54, 29 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Formula One grid[edit]

When was the most recent Formula One World Championship Grand Prix to have 3 grid slots on the same row? (78.19.101.103 (talk) 22:17, 25 October 2017 (UTC))[reply]

Wikipedia has an article titled List of Formula One Grands Prix from which you can start your research. Following links from that article to articles about individual races will help you to find your answer. --Jayron32 22:47, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
To narrow your search, this article [1] says the configuration was used until the "early 1970s". --Xuxl (talk) 15:43, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
According to History of Formula One regulations the requirement for two slots per row on the grid came into force for the 1974 season - so presumably 1973 would have been the last with three in a row as a possibility. However, looking a photos from that year, they seem to have preferred a staggered arrangement: two in the front row, then two in the next row but not behind the ones in the front row - it almost looks like four lines of cars, but only two on each row [2] Wymspen (talk) 18:33, 26 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
