I (User:Quadell) was granted permission to use any of the images from Sam's Exotic Travels under the terms of the GFDL. There are some terrific images here.

A while back, another editor contacted you regarding the use of one of your images on Wikipedia's article on Louisville, Kentucky. You graciously gave your permission for Wikipedia to use your image. Unfortunately, we've run into a small problem. All images on Wikipedia have to be used under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, and your image is not released under this license. This GNU license means that although you would retain the copyright and authorship of your own work, you would be granting permission for all others (not just Wikipedia) to use, copy, and share your materials freely -- and even potentially use them commercially -- so long as they do not try to claim the copyright themselves, nor prevent others from using or copying them freely.

We choose the GFDL because we consider it the best available tool for ensuring our encyclopedia can remain free for all to use, while providing credit to everyone who donates text and images. With your permission, we will credit you for your work in the image's permanent description page, noting that it is your work and is used with your permission, and we will provide a link back to your website. If you choose not to allow us to use your image under the GFDL, we (sadly) will be unable to use the image.
