Halo: Reach is a first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie and published by Microsoft Game Studios. Reach was released on September 14, 2010 for the Xbox 360 video game console. The game takes place in the year 2552, where humanity is locked in a war with the alien Covenant. Players control Noble Six, a member of an elite supersoldier squad, when the human world known as Reach falls under Covenant attack. Developed after Halo 3 in 2007, the game is a prequel to the original Halo game trilogy. As the game would take place on a human world doomed to be destroyed, the developers focused on making the environment a character unto itself. Reach's music was composed by longtime Halo composers Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori, aiming for a more somber sound to match the story. Reach was announced at the E3 2009 in Los Angeles. Halo: Reach grossed US$200 million on its launch day, setting a new record for the franchise. The game sold well in most territories, moving more than three million units its first month in North America. Critical reception was positive, and generally praised the game's graphics and sound, but the plot and characters were less positively received. (Full article...)

  • Note: I appear as "nominator" because I transferred this from a specific date (14 Sept) to non-specific, as the chosen date was too close to another video nomination. The original nominator was User:Sovereign Sentinel. I hope to run this later in the month, or early October. Brianboulton (talk) 07:39, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - I only nominated this for the 5th anniversary. This would be too close to other video game articles, and other articles about the Halo franchise. sovereign°sentinel (contribs) 02:30, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well, I made it quite clear in your original nomination that it would not run on your requested date (near clash with Grand Theft Auto V), but that I would run it later in the month. I think you rather overestimate the significance of release date "anniversaries" for video games. Brianboulton (talk) 09:07, 3 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. The actual date is no great shakes, and "too close to other video game articles" doesn't cut much ice when the original Nom was early September! – SchroCat (talk) 15:05, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
