- List:
- Identify all existing Wikipedia Industrial design-related articles (with Category:Industrial design or a subcategory).
- List Industrial design topics not already covered in Wikipedia articles. (See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Industrial design/List_of_article_requests)
- Expand and format the list of articles accordingly. (See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Industrial design/List_of_articles)
- Identify all existing Wikipedia Industrial design-related articles (with Category:Industrial design or a subcategory).
- Tag:
- Put the project banner {{WikiProject Industrial design}} on Industrial design related articles' talk page to make editors aware of the existence of this project.
- Tag the relevant articles with the {{Portal|Industrial design|Design_portal_logo.jpg}} template.
- Put the project banner {{WikiProject Industrial design}} on Industrial design related articles' talk page to make editors aware of the existence of this project.
- Assess:
- Assess (or reassess) unassessed articles. (See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Industrial design/Assessment)
- Increase article quality towards Start, C, B, A, GA or FA status according to their importance level.

- Write:
- Write the listed redlink articles. (See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Industrial design/List_of_article_requests)
- Put an Infobox like {{Designer Infobox}} in articles where applicable.
- Monitor articles
- Recent changes in articles related to Industrial design
