Committee discusses expansion of program[edit]

Campus AmbassadorsThe Wikipedia Ambassador Steering Committee has started meeting again in the spring term. Members of the committee held their first meeting last week and discussed how to select future members, the future of regional ambassadors, training for both Campus and Online Ambassadors, and more questions about the future of the program. Wikipedia workshop to be given at APSA conference[edit]

The Wikimedia Foundation's Communications Associate LiAnna Davis and Research Analyst Amy Roth are traveling to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to present a session on using Wikipedia as a teaching tool at an academic conference. Amy and LiAnna will be showcasing what worked and what didn't from participating Public Policy Initiative fall classes at the American Political Science Association's Teaching and Learning Conference. Ambassadors collaborate for Editing Friday[edit]

The Campus and Online Ambassadors have started a new tradition: Editing Fridays. On Editing Friday, the Ambassadors come together to work on improving one Wikipedia article. New-to-Wikipedia Ambassadors get to experience the collaborative writing that makes Wikipedia so unique, and experienced Wikipedian Ambassadors get experience answering questions from newbies. Thirteen Ambassadors participated on improving the article "Tradition" -- so the practice can become a tradition! -- last Friday. See what their work produced by reading the Tradition article.

LSU student newspaper covers Initiative[edit]

Six classes at Louisiana State University are incorporating Wikipedia into the curriculum in the spring term, including two that are participating in the Public Policy Initiative. The university's Communication Across the Curriculum department is working with professors to bring Wikipedia editing into the LSU curriculum.
