This course examines the grammatical, developmental and social aspects of American Sign Language (ASL) and other sign languages of the world in light of linguistic theory and current research. Assignments under consideration are:

(1) to select a sign language other than ASL from the list presented in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sign_languages whose Wikipedia article needs to be created or expanded upon and for which adequate sources are available for this purpose; or (2) to add multimedia content to an existing Wikipedia article on some aspect of sign language linguistics in general or on a particular sign language.
