It's ironic that this page has a more lengthy discussion of the Jamaican Bobsled Team than the actual page for the Jamaican Bobsled Team does.68.50.250.131 03:27, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Description of "ignore all rules"[edit]

The "See also" section mentions Wikipedia:Ignore all rules, saying that this policy "implores editors to ignore the rules only if they 'prevent you from improving or maintaining Wikipedia's quality.'"

I have to take issue with the "implore . . . only if" part of the above. What WP:IAR actually says is: "If a rule prevents you from improving or maintaining Wikipedia, ignore it."

It may be a matter of debate exactly how expansive (or limited) the use of WP:IAR ought to be. But this page is representing (as if it were part of WP:IAR) an extremely limited scope for "Ignore All Rules" which, though possibly a valid viewpoint, is clearly not supported by the policy itself.
