American TCG sources!
I was pointed to a gallery with cardscan for the american TCG. This will allow to source a number of attacks commonly listed on the internet. See an example at Gargoylemon. Circeus 13:54, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Key articles for Wikipedia 1.0
Hello! We at the Work via WikiProjects team for Wikipedia 1.0 would like you to identify the "key articles" from your project that should be included in offline releases of Wikipedia based on their importance, regardless of quality. Would the list on your main project page be suitable? Although this project covers a topic too specialized for a general release, we may want to consider including articles in later releases. Hopefully it will also help you identify which articles are the most important for the project to work on. As well, please add to your Arts WikiProject article table any articles of quality articles|high quality]]. If you are interested in developing a worklist such as this one for your WikiProject, or having a bot generate a worklist automatically for you, please contact us. Please feel free to post your suggestions right here. Thanks! Walkerma 05:34, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
- I was wondering what everyone felt about applying this for our project's efforts? With so many articles, I think the importance rating might help us focus our efforts and such. There was also an earlier message about article assessment, something that you might already notice is happening with WikiProject Anime and manga, should we do that as well? -- Ned Scott 19:52, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Indeed, Anime and Manga are using the bot to generate a list and statistics. The importance parameter is new, so people are only just beginning to add it. The Machinima group is also using the bot for their table. Let us know if you'd like help in setting this up. Thanks, Walkerma 17:31, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Image replacements needed for watermarked images
Image:Crusadermonsd.jpg, Image:Susanoomon.jpg, Image:Emperorgreymon.jpg, Image:Magnagarurumon.jpg, Image:Magnagarurumon212313.jpg, Image:Dynasmonasda.jpg all have watermarks, and have been tagged as needing replacements. Although I think it's very clear that it doesn't change their copyright status, having "the digiport" watermarked on the image, it still looks... bad... In any case, they should probably be replaced. Easiest way to do this would be to click on the image and upload a new version rather than making a new image file on Wikipedia. However, if you do make a new image file be sure to speedy delete the old image as a duplicate, and update articles to use the new file. -- Ned Scott 06:24, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Sukamon and Chuumon?
Could someone please have a look at Chuumon? the infos in the box seem weird... or at least different then the text...

The Veedramon Family
Does anyone else thing we should merge Veedramon, AeroVeedramon, and UlforceVeedramon with Veedramon Zero, AeroVeedramon Zero, and UlforceVeedramon Zero? The two articles generally end up covering the exact same characters. Also, UlforceVeedramon X might also be good to merge with the normal one, since we've been doing that with most of the other X Digimon... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Razorsaw (talk • contribs) .
- I'd agree.Information about single characters have generally been made available in the article about the species. Circeus 14:14, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me. -- Ned Scott 04:23, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Questions
I have just recently discovered the orgy of YouTube and have been watching tons of Digimon episodes, so I have been contributing to this project. Few questions:
- I see the term "Our War Game" a lot but no link. Should there be its own separate article or should it redirect to Digimon: The Movie?
- What the heck is "Michi E No Armor Shinka"? What does it translate to? I could piece together the plot pieces by reading each article, but I would rather have someone who has actually watched the video to actually see it.
- Is "Hurricane Touchdown/Golden Armor Evolution" part of the Digimon Adventure 02 continuity? Some DigiDestined articles are split up, with Digimon 02 "first half" then the "hurricane touchdown" and then "secnond half". If there is a continuity, it should be mantianed. But if there isn't - I don't see why some articles are split with "first" and "second half".
- Who wrote these articles? Some of them sound really unencylopeidic; V-Tamer ranks as the worst with this really incredulous line: "And may it also be noted that the creators did -not- "rip off" Taichi's character from the anime. It's quite a scandalous claim, actually, when in all actuality, the manga preceded the anime by a margin."
- Why does Noriko get her own article? She appeared in maybe three episodes at the very end. Should I make an article called Cody's grandfather or June Motomiya, since those two are arguably more important than Noriko?
That is all. Hbdragon88 08:03, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, Noriko, and some others, should be merged with a list of minor characters per Wikipedia:Deletion policy/Minor characters. I guess we would do this by series and then break up things like the list of human characters, etc. -- Ned Scott 08:19, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
- "Michi E No Armor Shinka" is an audio drama. "Our War Game" is the second Digimon Adventure movie and the 2nd part of the US Digimon Movie. "Hurricane Touchdown/Golden Armor Evolution" is the 1st Digimon 03 movie and makes up roughly the latter half of the US Digimon movie. I do feel that there might be a need for a seperate article for the US movie.. I remember hearing that, due to the number of edits, some agency (SAG?) considered it a unique work rather than a translation. Shiroi Hane 14:43, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- Cool, audio drama. But does Hurricane Touchdown in any way fit into the continuity of Diugimon Adventure 02? I mean, Willis is never seen in the Adventure 02 dubbed version, and AFAIK is only mentioned one time (when Izzy dubs the new Digivicices the D-3s), so I'm leaning towards removing it out of hte continuity...but I would like confirmation before doing so. Hbdragon88
- I have already proposed that a big cleanup be made to completely separate the american "Digimon: the Movie" and the Japanese shorts, explaining the plot differences and so on. I am not amiliar enouh with the movies themselves to do the change myself, though. Circeus 01:15, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

- Woo! The Digimon Adventure 02 article aays that
itHurricane Touchdown isn't part of the continuity, so I'll be getting rid of the "first half" and "second half" headers on the DigiDestined articles. Hbdragon88 04:29, 24 July 2006 (UTC)- At least 2 of the original japanese movies were part of the continuity. In English, the resulting shoehorned merge cannot be. Circeus 04:46, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- So...we write this from the full perspective, the American dub perspective, or both? Hbdragon88 05:10, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- I saw we rewrite Digimon: The Movie from scratch, and have articles for the separate japanese movies, to allow for description of differences in plot, all articles are then linked from the pertinent season's articles. Circeus 05:17, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Spoiler tag Request for comment
Some of you might already be aware of the spoiler tag dispute from Wikipedia talk:Spoiler warning. (For those of who who do not know about it, it is a debate on the use of spoiler tags and if they should be used on Wikipedia.) The editors involved have decided to file an RfC and start a new discussion page, in order for the debate to be more inviting to other editors. The RfC has an intro page at Wikipedia:Spoiler warning/RfC and then a structured discussion page at Wikipedia talk:Spoiler warning/RfC. The debate is now better organized and not as heated as it was before. I'd like to invite anyone interested to get involved in the debate, even if it's just a small comment or neutral input. -- Ned Scott 01:11, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Too many images?
I think there are entirely too many images on some articles; in particular, I'm looking at the DigiDestined articles, full of images of Digivices and eggs. What and how do they add to the value of the page? Davis has the Digi-Egg of Courage? What does that prove? What, exactly, does that illustrate? I mean, if I wanted to prove Davis' courage, I would mention how he never gave up during any battle, even when the odds were stacked against him. The Digi-Egg doesn't prove anything. Likewise, I could prove Tai's courage better with descriptions of his insanity than by showing a picture of his Crest of Courage. So, what I'm trying to get at is this: Digivices, crests, and egggs are all eye-candy and do not add much to the pages they illustrate (DigiDestined articles). I thus propose that all of the Digi-Eggs, Crests, and Digivices be removed from those articles. The Digivices could remian on the Digivice page, as they do illustrate them well. Hbdragon88 21:19, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
- agree. Especially on having '2' images of the eggs. Although the eggs should be present in Digi-Eggs, they probably should be removed from character articles. Circeus 01:23, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- Indeed. In these cases probably the best thing would be to find a screen shot of the character with a digivice or something like that, then you kill two birds with one stone (having a picture of a character, and their "stuff). But in any case, we do need to trim down on the images. -- Ned Scott 03:57, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Kaseidramon strikes back..
Could someone who knows more about the Kaseidramon issue anad has seen ep 14 of Savers possibly review this edit: [1]? Shiroi Hane 14:19, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- Not sure about the details, but I did notice Kaseidramon's deletion log entries. Whole thing sounds like a hoax to me. -- Ned Scott 11:02, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Until I see concrete evidence, this Digimon is somewhat a hoax. Fractyl
Capitalization?
(Sorry if this doesn't work, it's my 1st talk page discussion.)
I ran into a little trouble recently when I capitalized '-Dramon' in a couple of articles. Well, is it official that you're not supposed to do that? I've seen tons of websites that did capitalized the -dramon; that's where I had gotten the idea that it was supposed to be capitalized. Does the rule go for all Digimon name 'suffixes?' Like, do you not capitalize the Garurumon in Weregarurumon, or the Veggiemon in Redveggiemon?
And, how about all the terms that start with 'Digi-,' like digivice, digi-Modify, digivolve, etc. For digivolving, do you capitalize any terms that preceed the word (like 'Armor Digivolve' for example)?
P.S. - I noticed on the Gabumon page that the text is messed up right by the table that shows Gabumon's official line art. The phrase "Gabumon is a" is in the wrong position.Indiawilliams 20:06, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure on official names, but Wiki-links are case-sensitive, which is probably why those edits got reverted. -- Ned Scott 10:51, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- Official names never capitalize "dramon". Capitalizing it is a common mistake due to the dub's (sometime errant) capitalization of compound names like "MetalGreymon".
- And so on... See also the Digimon Encyclopedia, which does not capitalize. I'd be interested to see some of those "tons of websites" that do cpaitalize. Circeus 16:55, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well I've seen -dramon capitalized here and there on various websites. I saw it so often that I thought it was supposed to be that way. Oh well, you live and you learn. So, can you confirm if I capitalize terms like Digivice, Digivolve, Digi-Modify, etc., and the other terms for Digimon names, like MetalGreymon?Indiawilliams 15:36, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Proded articles, "Four Great Dragon Digimon" and "Olympus Twelve"
I prod'ed two articles, Four Great Dragon Digimon and Olympus Twelve. Seems like list-cruft to me, and I'm not even sure where these groups are from (anime, manga, etc). The best I can guess is that they're maybe a group from the card game, but I'm not sure. If this is notable information, then it probably should be merged with another article. Feel free to remove the prod tags if you feel these articles shouldn't be deleted. -- Ned Scott 10:54, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- I definitely agree. I'd support a deletion of The Seven Great Demon Lords. Reeks of OR to me, especially as it DOES state that "they are not spoken of in either the Digimon television series or any of the Digimon manga". Circeus 16:59, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, I wasn't sure about that one, thought it was apart of the card game, but I realise now that it doesn't even say that. -- Ned Scott 20:24, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Can someone knowlegable check the Akatorimon page?
"AIDs Attack" and "Penor Crusher" are clearly the result of vandalism, but I'm not sure what the correct list is.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mauron (talk • contribs) .

Houston, we have a problem: Mega ecolutions in 01 strike back

Actually the 01 Digimon's mega evolutions were apparently revealed in the Japanese D-Terminal, see User:Chris McFeely's Digipedia which (I assume) would make them canon. 86.128.205.69 16:56, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- I assume you mean a v-pet toy or "Digidex" when you say D-Terminal? If that's the case, then it can be noted in the article, but should be written to show it's not "anime" canon, such as:
- Digivolution
- Tentomon's normal Digivolution in the Digimon Adventure anime:
- Fresh (Baby I) - Pabumon
- In-Training (Baby II) - Motimon
- Rookie (Child) - Tentomon
- Champion (Adult) - Kabuterimon
- Ultimate (Perfect) - MegaKabuterimon
- In the D-Terminal Digidex, Tentomon has a listed mega level that does not appear in the anime:
- Mega (Ultimate) - HerculesKabuterimon
- This way it won't be confused as an anime evolution. -- Ned Scott 17:06, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Just looking at this diff, should there be redirects from the Black- prefixes to the non-Black- prefixes? Or should it be reverted? x42bn6 Talk 01:52, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
V-Tamer character merges
I decided to be bold and merge the Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01 character articles with the main article. This included Taichi Yagami, Sigma (Digimon), Rei Saiba, Neo Saiba, Mari Goutokuji, and Hideto Fujimoto. My rational was, one, they were all really short and the main article had little to no character info to begin with. Two, this is inline with advice from the Wikipedia:Notability (fiction). I think we could use some more minor-merges and cleanup similar to this. It will strengthen our articles and make things easier to find and access. -- Ned Scott 03:56, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Please say something to this user
T-man, the Wise Scarecrow (talk · contribs · count), in trying to defend his flagrantly anti-consensus edits at Talk:List of Justice League episodes, has repeatedly insulted the work of this Wikiproject. While I am not a member of this project, I am pretty disgusted with this user's behavior, and offended to see an editor disrespect the work of other editors like this. I would appreciate it if an editor could talk to him about the way he is defaming WikiProject Digimon Systems Update. --Chris Griswold 07:07, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I've responded, but mostly because I was already involved in the discussion :) Not sure if we should encourage additional conflict, though. He's making these comments out of ignorance, and I doubt anyone would take his comments to heart. -- Ned Scott 08:02, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I just saw your comment in the discussion. I suppose you're right. I'm just frustrated with trying to deal with him; I've given him so many alternative options, I've tried to calm him down and focus his energy. I guess I was just trying to think of something to make him just stop doing what he is doing. Bans don't work; he actually requests them. --Chris Griswold 08:49, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
