Bois D'Arc Lake is an artificial lake in Northeastern Texas. It is located near Bonham in Fannin County. It is the newest major reservoir in Texas.

History[edit]

Construction of Reservoir began in May, 2018. The project was finished April 17, 2024. It cost 1.6 Billon Dollars to make. It's goal was to supply water to the growing area around it. It also created 2,400 jobs and offers additional activities of fishing, boating, nature viewing, and picnic areas. The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) also expects 3,200 new homes to be built over the next 30 years.

Fishing[edit]

Bois D'Arc Lake has a variety of different fish species in. It's prominent species is Largemouth Bass, Lone Star Bass, White Bass, Channel Catfish, Black Crappie, White Crappie, and Bluegill. The fish in reservoir came from fish stocking.
