"the first beat that was conceived by West and record producer Charlie Heat" - I would personally change the bolded "and" to "with"
"Charlie Heat affirmed that West is a genius and he allows the rapper to 'speak on his process, but some people are just gifted at things' and he is unique in his listening. The producer put forward that West is the best musician he has met 'at coming up with a good product', feeling working with him expanded his mind in production, art, and life" - I think most of this could be shortened to something like: "Charlie Heat praised West as a genius, writing that he'd let West "speak on his process, but [that] some people are just gifted at things."
"for the name change from Swish to Waves" - I think using quotation marks would be more accurate here since its the title of a song

"'Waves' is a song by American rapper and producer Kanye West" - Peaking at some of your other Kanye articles, most seems to just use "rapper" so many cut producer?
