Christophe Maé (born October 16, 1975) is a French singer who has played the role of Monsieur in the musical Le Roi Soleil since 2005. He is known for songs such as "Ça marche" and "Et vice Versailles". He learned to play the violin at age 6, and later began playing the guitar and harmonica at age 16 after he was immoblized from a chronic illness. This is when he discovered his inspiration: Stevie Wonder.[citation needed] His musical influences are Bob Marley, Ben Harper, Tracy Chapman, and Jack Johnson as well as French singer-songwriters Francis Cabrel and Gérald De Palmas.
Career
Christophe Mae's first album was entitled " Sa Danse Donne", released in 2002-2003. This album is not considered Mae's first studio album. He released his solo album, Mon Paradis (My Paradise) on March 19, 2007. Mon Paradis was Mae's first studio album. The first single was "On s'attache". The second single is "Parce qu'on sait jamais" and the third is "Ça fait mal". His fourth single is "Belle Demoiselle".
His first tour is promoted by Jean-Claude Camus. Christophe Maé opened for Seal at the Grand Rex in Paris and for Cher at the Zénith de Paris, both in 2004. His debut solo album Mon Paradis is France's best-selling album of 2007 after Life In Cartoon Motion by Mika, selling more than 900 000 albums so far. He has a son named Jules, born on 11th March .
