== Usage ==
The {{Tlb|WikiProject Schools}} template adds an article's talk page to [[:Category:WikiProject Schools articles]] and its subcategories. Please place this template onto relevant articles' ''talk'' pages. This template should be [[Wikipedia:Transclusion|transcluded]] and not substituted (using [[Wikipedia:Template substitution|{{subst:}}]]) because it employs conditional code. Transclusion also allows easy updating of all of the Project's talk pages without having to edit thousands of pages.

The template also employs several optional data field parameters as described below. For an example of how the template will appear under various parameter circumstances, please see {{oldid|Template:WikiProject Schools/Examples|220482827|Template:WikiProject Schools/Examples}}.

Top importance schools will usually have a long list of notable international and/or national alumni (on the order of heads of government, heads of state, senior royalty, Nobel prize winners, etc.) as well as having received sufficient journalistic coverage as is required for the development of articles on Wikipedia to the higher quality classes. This category should be reserved for the most notable schools in their country and they are also likely to have several articles in foreign-language Wikis. It is expected that only 0.001% of all WikiProject Schools articles will meet these criteria.
