== I'm already perma-banned ==

Just read your stuff on adoption. Good page. So...

1. I am already permabanned from a year or two ago. The reason was ''repeated incivility''. (I could debate the very last banning as I was joking around with another editor, but there was a very long pattern of incivility and I felt like I had gotten plenty of second chances, so it was kinda karmically correct...plus it's pretty hard to debate the behavior....plus I always hated whining about punishment...rather just take it.)

2. I've been pretty much off the project since the permaban. I think completely off for many months. Got back and did a few (constructive) editing days a couple months ago. Had to get people to create new pages and all that bother.

3. My pattern was never really blatant vandalism. More trolling and joking and then incivility (as an element of the trolling). Usually pretty decent editing along the way. (And I'm not justifying the behavior...I understand that getting some edits in does not earn the right to troll...I'm just explaining the flavor of the sins for whatever it's worth.

4. Can I be adopted by you?
A. First thing is would need some help figuring out how to get reinstated, or a new life. I don't understand how to do that. But since part of your adoption service is you say you know how to figure stuff out, that would be the first "need".
B. Since you hate incivility, maybe you would not want me! However, we could flip that around and then say, me being an involuntary adoptee or whatever, would be a part of my parole to rehabilitate me, and since you are so anti-hitting, then that would make you a stern parole-master.

I can only hope, for the benefit of the encyclopedia, that we will one day make a return to the open, relaxed, and supportive environment that was once an integral part of Wikipedia. Fastily (talk · contribs)

My RfA

Thank you for participating in my RfA
Hello Intelati, and thank you for participating in my RfA, which failed with 20 support votes, 34 oppose votes, and 11 neutral votes. All the feedback was much appreciated, and the concerns that were brought up are surely not falling on deaf ears. I will strive to listen to everyone's feedback in the days, weeks, and months to come, and I hope that I will eventually be able to gain the community's trust and receive the admin tools so I can further benefit this encyclopedia. Fred Shero GA Review

Thank you for your review. It will take me a few days to see if I can find more for the personal life section. As for the pictures I think that Its going to be difficult I had a tough time finding the one image that is on the page but I will definitely look for some more.--Mo Rock...Monstrous (talk) 14:19, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

thanks and request

Could you start a page for the US National Gymnastics Championships? We have one for the NCAA gym championships and even for the American Cup (which is a more minor meet) but not one for Nationals. I can build the content and all, just need a title page put up. But as an IP, I can't technically start the page. Procedure is I ask a non-IP user to start it. editing question: searching revisions

We lost a whole section of the Shawn Johnson biography: her 2008 competitive season. All it has now for 2008 is the Olys. But she had a whole season's worth of meets (similar to 2007): Nationals and several other big International meets. I know that stuff was there a long while ago. I guess I can try to search where it left, must have been deleted in error. If I have to, I can make it all from scratch, but there will be a lot of content with footnotes and such. Any FAST WAY to find that in the revision history? Note, this isn't stuff like all her television appearances or the like (which spinach I can understand pruning). It seems like stuff that must have got clipped in error. I'm actually not interested in making you look for that content per se, but just to know if there is a "trick" for searching revisions if I have this problem in the future. 72.82.33.250 (talk) 01:22, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

fancy cites

Do you know how to use those fancy cite templates for references? Like how do you actually get them to appear? I guess I will read about it and try to figure it out. Is there a button like the reference button? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.82.33.250 (talk) 05:29, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Cite web--intelatitalk 06:12, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm still baffled, how you mechanically put it in the page 1. Is there a button (like with the ref thingie) or do I need to type out the template in the double squiglies? 2. Will it give me the fields and all? Then add the data? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.82.33.250 (talk) 06:36, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you create an account there is a JavaScript that automates the functions, like the ref. But by hand though, you can use the code. {{cite web }}--intelatitalk 07:34, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I know I'm coming across as slow, but I feel like I am caught in a catch 22. When I just type in the word, inside double brackets...that seems like all I get. Shouldn't it pop open and give me fields and stuff? P.s. Even as an IP, I get the ref thing as a clickable button on the screen. Little book looking icon. Love that! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.248.6.169 (talk) 20:13, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Look inside the template page and use the {{cite web }}.
And yes the book thing is handy for quick references. If you get an account, you can get a ref toolbar that automates the {{citeweb}} proccess.--intelatitalk 21:06, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

more gruel, please (nother page in the sandbox)

Could I please have another page in the sandbox (or can you just set up a stub)?

Name "Amanar"

Justification: It's got a few redlinks and comes up more and more as it is an increasingly popular, and very high scoring vault). It's on the list of new pages to create for the Wikipedia Gymnastics project. too. There are also some interesting issues related to it (recent controversies for example with a Russian having it disqualified at the 2010 Worlds and a big score protest and an appeal to some International Court of Sports: it is prone to some judgement calls) so I expect it would grow to be larger than many of the other skill pages (probably always stubs, although the Project has a crazy idea of a page on each element...I don't support that).

TEXT:

(title) Amanar

The Amanar is an artistic gymnastics vault, first performed by Simona Amanar at the 2000 Olympics.

The vault is a Yurchenko-style vault (round-off entry to the springboard, followed by a back handspring over the horse and subsequent backflip). For the Amanar, the backflip is performed with two and a half twists.

The skill is one of the hardest vaults performed by females; for example, only four athletes competed it at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. As of 2010 (and since the "end of ten" in 2005), the vault scored a 6.5 difficulty "D" score, a 0.7 increase over the much more common double-twisting Yurchenko.[1].

Females competing Amanar

As of October 2010, the following have completed Amanars in competition (chronological order)

Males competing Amanar

The Amanar is one of the few difficult elements performed by women, before men. The first man to perform an Amanar was Kyle Shewfelt at the 2004 Olympics.[citation needed] The male version of the element is named after him, although the term "Amanar" is more commonly used in describing men performing the element.

As of 2010 and since 2005, the "Shewfelt" scores a 6.6 D score, which is a common vault score for top international males, who are not vault specialists.[citation needed] However, since 2004, men's vault evolved to higher difficulty, such that major-competition event finalists typically performed 7.0 vaults, more difficult than the Amanar.

2009 and 2010 all-around World Champion Koji Uchimora competed the Amanar.

Amanar downgrading

In modern gymnastics scoring, incomplete (theoretically at all) twisting results in a downgrade of difficulty, rather than just a form error. Thus, attempted Amanars with less than 2.5 credited twists are considered double-twisting Yurchenkos, costing the gymnasts a very large 0.7 penalty.

At the 2010 World Championships, Russian Nabieva's Amanar was downgraded in event finals (but credited in team finals and prelims). The Russian team protested unsuccessfully. Controversy associated with the downgrade (and two other Russian vault downgrades) was reflected in Russian media and was covered in Western sources as well. [citation needed]

At the 2006 World Championships, Cheng Fei's Amanar was downgraded.[citation needed]
