By the way, can you people find a different Admin to look over stuff, I just happened to come upon her user page and it said she was Irish, I think you people did that on purpose because you know Italians and Irish don't get along. Revision as of 17:44, 24 June 2008

There is no way User:Generale d'Armata Mannino was me! Look at what time he registered, he registered after I was blocked, therefor, there was no way that could have been me because I was blocked from editing before he registered, please hear me out! General Mannino (talk) 22:07, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, according to the logs, he was registered about 17 hours before you were blocked. Metros (talk) 22:24, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Indef block

General Mannino,

I just blocked you indefinitely based on this edit by an account that appears to be a sockpuppet. I see your denial above; I'll ask a checkuser if they can clarify what's going on. In the mean time, the indef block should stand; you were going to remain blocked for a week anyway. I'll follow up on this and act accordingly after I hear back from a checkuser. I am, however, reminded of the boy who cried wolf; this would be easier to believe if you hadn't created another obvious sock earlier. --barneca (talk) 22:08, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't me! Generale d'Armata Mannino was not me! Please hear me out! I did not make that edit! I did not post that to WikiDon! Someone else did! Please listen to me! Please! General Mannino (talk) 22:10, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't me! I'm not lying! Check the IP address and the time he registered! It could not have been me! General Mannino (talk) 22:12, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I will look into it. --barneca (talk) 22:12, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Metros even has the feeling it wasn't me and that I'm telling the truth, and he was the one who blocked me in the first place. I swear on my own life it wasn't me! General Mannino (talk) 22:17, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request for adminship is strange.

1) Why would you nominate yourself for admin, use a sockpuppet for support, and delete all the opposition-?
2) And, why would you say that you are going to continue to vandalize an article and asked to be blocked, instead of working with others? And then request the administrator position only two edits later? Don't you think that is rather odd and immature behavior? IP4240207xx (talk) 22:13, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(ec)::Do you have an explanation for User:MI General? Who strangely has the same interest in Starship Troopers that you do, and was the only supporter in your untranscluded RFA? Tan | 39 22:14, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MI General, I will admit, was a sockpuppet of mine, but the user Generale d'Armata Mannino was NOT me! Look at the IP address and the time he joined! It could not have been me! General Mannino (talk) 22:15, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Meatpuppet, mayhaps? There's too much coincidence even if the CU comes up different. Tan | 39 22:18, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it is possible an existing sockmaster was watching ANI, saw this thread, and decided to muddy the waters (if true, it certainly worked, eh?). At the risk of WP:BEANS, I'm surprised that sort of thing doesn't happen more often.. --Jaysweet (talk) 22:21, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Although, despite Metros' feeling, I have a feeling the CU results will make this uncontroversial. heh.. We'll see, though. --Jaysweet (talk) 22:22, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's this theory I was leaning towards Jaysweet, but I just noticed the creation log so that kind of dampers that thought. Metros (talk) 22:23, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah yes, twenty minutes after this, and while GM was embroiled in an edit war over the notability tag on Mannino, no less. Yeah, I'm with Tan on this one now. Definite WP:DUCK. --Jaysweet (talk) 22:26, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, there is a coincidence, but he registered with a different IP and he was able to edit pages after I was blocked from editing. It was not me, and it can not be me. General Mannino (talk) 22:23, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just please believe me, look into it. General Mannino (talk) 22:28, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Even if this other user was not you, you have done enough other things to warrant a ban anyway. IP4240207xx (talk) 22:30, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but only a ban for 1 week, not indefinitely. General Mannino (talk) 22:34, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What about these questions:

1) Why would you nominate yourself for admin, use a sockpuppet for support, and delete all the opposition-?
2) And, why would you say that you are going to continue to vandalize an article and asked to be blocked, instead of working with others? And then request the administrator position only two edits later? Don't you think that is rather odd and immature behavior? IP4240207xx (talk) 22:13, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please Listen

I will admit MI General was a sockpuppet, however the user Generale d'Armata Mannino was not me. He has a different IP address and he registered and was able to edit after I was blocked from editing, it wasn't me and it could not have been me. Please look more into this and remove this indef block for something I didn't do. General Mannino (talk) 22:32, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We understand that. But, what about all of the other things that you have done. Separate the two issues please. IP4240207xx (talk) 22:34, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The other things only warrant a ban of only 1 week and not indefinitely. General Mannino (talk) 22:35, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have not demonstrated a willingness to 1) Learn the Wikipedia Help Contents, and 2) Work with others; in the past. What makes us think that you will in the future? IP4240207xx (talk) 22:38, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I guess this remark was said in haste. Tan | 39 22:38, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Have you guys found proof yet? And IP4240207xx, please stay out of this, you are not apart of this. General Mannino (talk) 22:44, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for cooperating with your fellow Wikipedians. IP4240207xx (talk) 22:45, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your welcome, I'm just waiting to see if they found any facts yet so that they can remove my indef block. General Mannino (talk) 22:49, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That last comment, of mine, is called sarcasm. You will not cooperate with me or anyone else if it suits you. You have your own rules and don't care to help others. IP4240207xx (talk) 22:53, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How can I help others when I'm the one who needs help? And stay out of this, you have no part in it. General Mannino (talk) 22:54, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another thing, I don't know what Time Zone everyone is in, but according to my Time Zone Generale d'Armata Mannino was created after the block, NOT before. General Mannino (talk) 22:54, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, all the timestamps are GMT. Account created 05:26 ([1]), you were blocked at 21:19 ([2]). Clear as day. --Jaysweet (talk) 22:57, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) IP42, I would lay off at this point. I don't see this going anywhere other than an indef block anyway (the evidence regarding the account creation time for the alleged sock is pretty damning) so best bet is to just ignore this guy. --Jaysweet (talk) 22:55, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Time out

Could the feeding frenzy on this page just hold off until we hear from a Checkuser? General Mannino, the 1 week block stands, no matter what, so there is no rush. I'm not ignoring you. Let's just wait, stop editing, and come back tomorrow and see what's what, OK? The RFCU is at : Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/General Mannino. --barneca (talk) 22:58, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, well I'm waiting for an answer today. General Mannino (talk) 23:00, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well it looks like the checkuser page found that he had nothing to do with me. I know the 1 week block still stands, but can someone now take me off of the indefinite block? General Mannino (talk) 23:03, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't Italians have lots of cousins? HoundDog23 (talk) 23:04, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, we Italians do, but I don't know anyone in my family or any of my friends who uses Wikipedia. General Mannino (talk) 23:06, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Two things (maybe three)

1. People: No, really, please stop taunting a blocked user. Let this sort itself out.
2. GM: The RFCU does, indeed, seem to indicate you aren't involved in that account. However, I'm going to leave everything alone until the entire story unfolds. Really, I really suggest you don't push getting your blocked downgraded tonight; it doesn't matter, and I refused to be rushed; I will unblcok and apologize if, as I suspect, it is called for, but there is more to the RFCU and I want to wait to see what is going on. I'm not insisting another admin leave the block alone for now, but I'm recommending it.
3. Everyone: I really think protecting this page for the evening is the way to go, to prevent both sides from saying something they may regret, but that would take away Mannino's ability to request an {{unblock}}. Still, if you want my advice, GM, please wait until tomorrow. And everyone else, please leave him alone for now. --barneca (talk) 23:14, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well it's tomorrow as promised, and we know that user was not me, so I'm still waiting for this indef ban to be removed. General Mannino (talk) 17:01, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, can you people find a different Admin to look over stuff, I just happened to come upon her user page and it said she was Irish, I think you people did that on purpose because you know Italians and Irish don't get along. General Mannino (talk) 17:44, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
