Rhytida oconnori is a terrestrial gastropod in the family Rhytididae, endemic to the South Island of New Zealand. It is found at Canaan, near the headwaters of the Wainui River, Pikikiruna Range, at the north of the South Island, living in forest litter.

The shell is rather large, thin, largely chitinous, with rapidly accelerating whorls, resulting in a very large elongate-oval aperture. The surface is finely malleated by a laterally compressed network of anastomosing radial ridges, crossed by exceedingly fine spiral striations. Colour is pale brown over the early whorls, with the body-whorl dark olive-brown.

Major diameter is up to 33 mm, and height up to 19 mm.
