Hi, here's my talk page. Feel free to put anything you want here. If it's here, then you can assume that I've seen it. It's my policy not to delete mostly any messages here, but please don't vandalize this page. I '''will''' revert obvious vandalism that obstructs other people's view of my page. Thanks in advance for leaving a message! The reason for this policy is that I believe comments on this page- even if it's an attack against me- offer insight into what other user's think of me.

<s>This page has never been archived. For your reading pleasure, I don't plan to archive it.</s> Scratch that, this page is getting huge. I will blank every 100 comments, with a link to each archival copy (I want to preserve the diffs that I've often use as 'evidence').

I reserve the right to make ''slight'' modifications to people's comments, providing that it doesn't change the meaning. I promise not to change the body of people's text, but I may sign it for them if they forgot (I'll put it in [brakets], and make a note of it somewhere). I also might move comments, or add titles to people's comments if they didn't do it themselves. Whatever I decide to change, will be an obvious modification, usually denoted by [brackets]. Signing under somebody else's name '''will not be tolerated.''' Do so, and your comment will be deleted '''without consideration'''.

<center><h1>DO NOT REVERT ANYTHING ON THIS PAGE!!!</h1> <small>Unless of course you're reverting a revert</small></center> Regardless of whether somebody has vandalized this page, attacked me personally, etc., I will deal with vandalism on THIS page on a case-by-case basis. On the other hand, reverting vandalism on my userpage would be much appreciated, and I have no problems with that. My personal policy is not to delete anything unless it obstructs other people's view of this page. I believe that messages on this page- inflammatory or not- give people potentially valuable insight on the type of contributor I am on Wikipedia.

This page was reverted '''once'''. I didn't see any reasonable way of preserving the message, and the user modified other people's comments.[http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Frazzydee&diff=8163683&oldid=8163533]

<big>To everybody who posts here: Please sign your name with four tildes (like this: <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>).</big> It makes it a lot easier for everybody (especially myself) to find out who said what. If you have something against time stamps, then I have no problem if you use three tildes, just make sure you post to the '''bottom''' of the page, so that everything is in chronological order.

==Copyrights==

While the paladin press page might have been copyrighted I just want to say that the articles on American Dragon and Isometric exercises were not found at the sites you specified. And I think that to an extent the widespread use of those articles across the internet is proof that there is no copyright. If you run a search of the text I posted you eill find it on multiple sites. And finally while I apoligize if I violated any copyrights my only intention was to get the articles started so others could edit them.--[[User:Gary123|Gary123]] 23:27, 23 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I also want to add that I believe all three of my articles are important enough to deserve to be in wikipedia one being a major printg press that was invovled in a major legal battle, the other an animated television series on a major network, and the third an important exercise use by one of the most famous exercising systems of all time Dynamic Tension by Charles atlas. For those reasons i think even if my information is copyrighted you should at least leave a small stub to start off those articles.--[[User:Gary123|Gary123]] 23:38, 23 Jan 2005 (UTC)

When I said that I didn's copy them from the sites you specified what I meant was that they were taken from sites other than the ones you mentioned. Which means that these passages are pretty widespread across the internet especial the isometric exercise article which is word for world in a huge amount of websites.--[[User:Gary123|Gary123]] 00:06, 24 Jan 2005 (UTC)

==DanP==
I don't know if DanP's [User talk:DanP|user talk] page is on your watchlist. It is currently on mine. He has asked you for evidence of the 3RR breach. I am not going to get involved, since I may say something I might regret (DanP frequently describes edits he disagrees with as vandalism - a habit I find infuriating). - [[User:Jakew|Jakew]] 22:22, 25 Jan 2005 (UTC)

== DanP's violation of the 3RR ==

If you look on his Talk: page, you'll note he was warned about this already back on December 16, 2004, so it's not like he doesn't know. As well, rather than being contrite, or suggesting he wouldn't do it again, he characterized his reverts as removing "vandalism", when he was clearly involved in an edit war. I have little patience for people who deliberately violate the 3RR, particularly when they do it with disingenuous excuses. [[User:Jayjg|Jayjg ]] | [[User_talk:Jayjg|<small>(Talk)</small>]] 23:15, 25 Jan 2005 (UTC)

== A possible 3RR-violation ==

----

A friend asked me to point out these four reverts by [[user:jakew | Jakew ]] in a twenty four our period. This is only the second time I ever tattled about 3RR and the othertime was to help to add some weight to the more serious issue of personal attacks. I generally let this sort of thing slide, but my friend really would like me to report this for him. So now, here it goes:

On [[medical analysis of circumcision]] [[user:jakew | Jakew ]] made these edits:

# 16:39, 24 Jan 2005 revert to 23:18, 23 Jan 2005
# 20:32, 24 Jan 2005 revert to 18:23, 24 Jan 2005
# 01:00, 25 Jan 2005 revert to 20:32, 24 Jan 2005
# 13:09, 25 Jan 2005 revert to 12:44, 25 Jan 2005

Those are revert pairs. He has several version to which he reverts at random. He has four pairs there to which he reverted. Whether that counts as four reverts, I leave for you to decide.

¡Thanks!

==Reference List==
Hi: Stumbled across the reference/cite check talk by accident. I'm new. Haven't contributed much; latest was [[Degenerate art]] Zosodada reverted & ripped me to shreds in less than 72 hours. I'm still perspiring, but that article looks nth degree encyclopedic now. I had to dig like a dog - my literary cites weren't convincing. Since I also spend a lot of time on the Ref Desk, I started my own list by "web farming" & categorizing: Arts; Business; News; Law; Inflation calculators - everything I can find. I just started; tedious checking links & determining they're useful. Something I tossed 2 days ago I needed the next. Is this helpful for your project, or a wasted effort? Naturally, I didn't set the page up right: Allie/Wikipedia Reference Desk. --[[User:Alisonsage|allie]] 23:59, 27 Jan 2005 (UTC)
:Sorry that the project lost momentum. Noticed that there is a Category:Reference & Category:Sources currently existing. many of my links overlap; but also found many that aren't on the list- ArtLex one example of a compendium that is valuable for fact checking. Also bumped into an error on ballet page - it's not "America Ballet Co." - it's "American Ballet Co." - and it's a video dictionary. Guess I should request a speedy delete of my page, then? --[[User:Alisonsage|allie]] 13:41, 28 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Hi Frazzydee. I wonder if I could ask for your help with something. A few days ago, [[User:Fvw]] set a block on me, which I believe was inappropriate. As far as I can tell, I didn't violate any policies, and the owner of the page concerned has since affirmed my beliefs. I'm trying to discuss this with Fvw, but I'm not having much luck. Please could you have a look at [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Fvw#Inappropriate_block my attempt to discuss this], and tell me if I'm being unreasonable. If I'm not, could you try to talk to him on my behalf? Thanks. (I've also asked [[User:Geni]]) - [[User:Jakew|Jakew]] 21:37, 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)
:Thanks for your response. I don't agree that what I did was wrong, and DanP doesn't seem to think so either (I guess since it's his user page he gets the last word...). Either way, it certainly wasn't user page vandalism as currently defined. My frustration at present is more with Fvw's arrogant refusal to discuss the matter than with the block itself - although I feel wronged, I can put it in the past if we could at least talk about it. Sorry - not your problem, I know. Anyway, thanks again for your comments, though I respectfully disagree. - [[User:Jakew|Jakew]] 22:19, 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Hi: Are you familiar with citing reference sourcework? I just made my 1st edit change, and my information contradicts what's in the article on Sylvester Graham. How do I check this? My reference is pretty good, I think: It's an Oxford Companion Encyclopedia. Also, I would be very interested to know what kinds of guidelines you use for plagiarism? Is listing a reference book enough? This is a sticky wicket with me, and I am very particular about this. Thank you, new user Otto. --[[User:Othello|Otto]] 21:56, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)

->Thanks! Appreciated all those links & your double-check; it was very thoughtful, as it appears you are a busy person. I like the way you footnoted, but unfortunately, it's not on my special pages link.
->You shouldn't have to do my work for me...
->Ergo, my second question: Is there a magic place in the Wikipedia where I can read up & find out about citations, how to footnote, and how not to become Template:Unreferenced? The Manual of Style doesn't say ''how'' (Hot dang! ''Italics!'') or ''where'' to put refs in the article you're working on?!?! It seems silly to have to double-check without them.
->What do you do? Look for well-polished writing and then think, hmmm...I'd better check this? That sounds like a double-negative to me. Then only sloppy, careless writing is rewarded, yet someone who does a lot of research and spends the effort to write an excellent piece (say, offline in Word) would be suspect, because a whole page suddenly appeared out of the blue. Hmph.
->I did stumble across the page on Wikipedia where you were determining what to do about referencing. Are you the coordinator, and may I become involved? or am I too new?
->Thank you for your help once again, and I don't mean to take up too much of your time with my questions. --[[User:Othello|Otto]] 02:40, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC) I'm not formatting this the right way, am I? Sorry. Off to the sandbox now.

==Cheap little bastard==
I am afraid I must take the moral high ground with respect to this comment you left on my talk page. ==Milgaard Page==
Thanks for the encouragement, I actually did an ISU on Milgaard, Morin and a few other cases of Canadians wrongfully convicted a couple years ago and just found the old documents on my computer, so decided to run through them quickly and hopefully update some Wikipedia pages with the info I'd dug up on them...while bored I actually then went and made a page for Milgaard's lawyer that I've seen in the paper several times for various things ([[Hersh Wolch]])
It's always encouraging though when you take time out of your day to update a wikipedia reference, to know that somebody's actually seen it, and it's not just lost and useless in cyberspace :)
btw, this is actually my first time using these talk pages, so I could be doing it completely wrong...guess I'll find out when I hit "save" :)

Man, is it ever great to hear from you! Your message cheered me up. I've been spending entirely too much time fighting vandals and hanging around the "newpages" section for my own good. Driving myself nuts. Glad you're back...stay in touch! Don't make me come to Toronto to give you a noogie. - [[User:Lucky 6.9|Lucky 6.9]] 19:03, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)

This article is wrong in fact. There are affadavits that say this. I did what you asked and it got removed. This is biased reporting in the worse way.

I have struck my charge of Orwellian revisionism; ''just because they're out to get you doesn't mean you're not paranoid.'' At the time I posted several copies of this around the project, I actually did fear that someone would systematically delete it without a trace.

You may wish to delete the box itself and replace with a link to [[User:Xiong/Minitrue]]. I will ''not'' consider that revisionism.&mdash; [[User:Xiong|Xiong]][[:Image:Xiong2char.png|<font color="#997749">&#29066;</font>]][[User talk:Xiong|talk]] 23:44, 2005 Apr 11 (UTC)

<div class="boilerplate metadata" id="Following process on Templates for deletion" style="background-color: #FFFFCC; border: 1px solid #663300; margin: 0.5em; padding: 0.5em"><center ><b >Following process on Templates for deletion</b ></center >

'''Who are we? Why are we here?''' I'm not speaking of the entire project or our grand mission, only of the small group of regulars who work within TfD. What are we doing here?

Each one of us will have a different answer to that question; so to guide us in our efforts, we have a written process. Process should not act as a straitjacket, but as a way for us to agree to respect each other's differing views.

If all of us had the same exact opinion on each template, there would be no need for the [[Wikipedia:Templates for deletion]] page -- not in its present form, at any rate. We would each individually mow down templates we found insupportable, and log the deletions. ''No need'' for debate, ''no need'' for discussion. And since we would all be in perfect agreement, we would have strong justification for refusing to hear appeals from other members of WP.

'''But it is not so.''' I think {{tl|widget}} should stay and {{tl|blivet}} should go; [[User:El Supremo|El Supremo]] thinks {widget} should go and {blivet} stay. Sometimes, we can discuss these issues and find a meeting ground. Maybe I can accept some changes to {widget}, with which El Supremo can tolerate its continued presence. But what do we do when after a week of wrangling, I still say "Widgets forever!" and El Supremo grunts, "Blivets or death!" -- what then?

Our process specifies that after seven days on TfD, if consensus is not reached, the nominated template is free to go -- the matter is over. We also say that a template should not be renominated for a month, if then. No good purpose is served by chewing old bones.

Recently, the nominated template {{tl|divbox}} came to the end of its seven-day roasting. There was considerable controversy, a more or less even split of opinions (4 delete to 3 keep), and certainly nothing approaching consensus, or even overwhelming majority. Our process says {divbox} goes free, and that's the end of the matter -- at least, the end for this month. Those determined to keep a dog in the fight may do so on [[Template talk:Divbox|the nominated template's Talk page]].

Shortly after I removed the offending listing and carefully began to archive all its debate -- not merely the debate within the TfD workflow, but wherever I could find a scrap of it -- a certain user, without discussion of any kind so far as I know, restored {divbox} to the TfD page '''and''' simultaneously juggled the entire contents of the page, including our written process guidelines. '''Am I the only one in this project who finds this a bit questionable?'''

*[http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion&oldid=11987572#Outcome_.28substage.29 TfD page, including process guidlines, prior to Orwellian reversions] -- here is an excerpt:

:"It is also possible that no concensus has been reached. '''''Action: Remove template from this page entirely. Copy the entire discussion to template's Talk page. Remove <nowiki>{{tfd}}</nowiki> tag from template's main page.''''' ("Disputed" subsection deprecated.) Absent concensus, the disputed template is kept."

: I have to disclose that it was I who wrote the text of this section, as part of a complete cleanup of the page, including explicit workflow process. The cleanup stood unchallenged througout the recent heated debate over {divbox} -- nobody found it offensive or even felt a need to correct my misspelling of "consensus" -- but now that it permits {divbox} release from jail, it must '''all''' be destroyed. (!?)

: This process, too, is subject to change -- but have we come to the point where we are permitted to change our guidelines for how we work ''at the same time as'' we cite our changes to process as justification for what we do?

If we have come to the point where everything is ''up for grabs'', please let me know, and I will start work on Jimbo's home page, VfD, CfD, RfC, RfA, and all the other pages which '''manage the way we manage''' the work we do. If I don't need to discuss any of my changes before making them, then why should I? And if someone disagrees with me, why should I not alter existing process to make his disagreement '''illegal'''?

If we have '''not''' come to that point, and we still cling to shreds of social fabric, then I ask you to take whatever action you think necessary to hold those shreds together, and allow me to return to the work I do best -- making things that work for us all. Thank you. &mdash; [[User:Xiong|Xiong]][[Image:Xiong2char.png]][[User talk:Xiong|talk]] 10:54, 2005 Apr 7 (UTC)

== Why did sandbot... ==

do [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Tutorial_%28Editing%29/sandbox&diff=prev&oldid=12310206 this]? Just curious :) -[[User:Frazzydee|Frazzydee]]|[[User talk:Frazzydee|&#9997;]] 22:52, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)

: Ah. The unfortunate side effect of processing a page. The time that it takes for Sandbot to get a page and process it has a lag time of about a minute or so. Therefore, when it attempts to re-enforce the existing header, the page in its cache is stale. I'm thinking a way to revert that. --[[User:AllyUnion| AllyUnion]] [[User talk:AllyUnion|(talk)]] 23:05, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)
:: Ah... I found the problem... The lag time is due to the fact that it gets two pages in a row. I moved it, so that it will attempt to process and post immediately. Hopefully, the bot won't run into that problem again. --[[User:AllyUnion| AllyUnion]] [[User talk:AllyUnion|(talk)]] 23:12, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)

== Fact and Reference Check ==

Hi Frazzydee,

Excellent work on the Fact and Reference checks and organization, esp. the article on Titan's Moon and now the current one on the [[Egyptian pyramids]]. I'll take a look at the formatting for each of these and try out doing some fact checks :). It is good we have a format in place to get it rolling and people will realize they can do referencing and start doing it to all articles. I think the momentum is starting to pick up.

As well, I notice that the list of members in FARC is organized by when they joined. Would a less POV version be alphabetic? We want new members to feel as important as old members, so we can get them working :P.

== deleted page ==

Thanks for the message. I remember moving the page to his User space from something like 'Template:Not notable', but I'd not normally delete anything in user space unless the creator asked for it to be. (Why didn't he use 'subst'?)

I'll be getting a mic soon, but my voice is pretty bad. You can contribute in the way I have, by editing others' contributions to delete weird pauses, or stutters, or anything that can clean up the speech. For an example, see the original and updated links at the bottom of the [[Image:Robert Oppenheimer.ogg|Robert Oppenheimer audio file]]; I got rid of 35 seconds of weird pauses, etc. You might try doing the [[History of the World]] audio file for a test. Just make sure you reencode it at the same kbps so that there isn't too much loss. As for the template, this was a consensus/compromise between myself, Raul654, and some of the other Spoken Wikipedia members, who all agree that it is fine. It might be a little redundant, but we're trying to increase the project popularity, so maybe we can consider changing this when we get a lot more people and articles. --[[User:Brian0918|<font color="#000000">brian0918</font>]][[User talk:Brian0918|<font color="#000000">&#153;</font>]] 02:08, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Greetings. I appreciate the friendly way you initiated my co-workers, whom I have just introduced to Wikipedia. You know them as 143.158.254.228, which is actually a proxy, though you will not be surprised to discover one of them is named ''Nerge''. They are aware of the sandbox, but they were not really testing to see if they could edit articles, but rather how fast their obvious jokes and vandalism would be reverted. Your excellent response time amazed them. One of them is watching me write this and is threatening me with an umbrella.

Perhaps I shouldn't have shown them wikipedia.
