Rizvi

Rizvi or Rizavi or Ridawi/Ridhawi is a surname commonly associated with Shia Muslims who are the descendants of 8th Imam (who was a descendant of Muhammad, Imam Ali. However, there also exists a community of Sunni and Shia Rizvis (also spelled in this case as Razvi) in South Asia. Both Sunnis and Shias are entitled to use the prefix Syed (or it's synonyms) in front of their name.
