The school schedule is based on a 6-period schedule with each class lasting 50 minutes each. There is also an integrated period for silent reading. There is also a portion of time set aside before and after school to help students with their learning, though this is optional. |

Lynnwood High School's [[mascot]] is a [[Chimera (mythology)|Chimera]]. The beautiful figure can be seen in the center of the gymnasium in the form of a hand-painted art piece. However, many pictures within the school represent the school's mascot as a mere lion cub. The Chimera is one of several mascots that have been associated with the school–the original mascot was the longhorn [[cattle|steer]], and for portions of the 1980s, the mascot was the Royal. The current mascot is the Chimera but it is still commonly referred to as the "Royals". |

The school currently sits directly across from [[Alderwood|Alderwood Mall]] on what used to be a wetland. Runoff from the hill behind the school and low elevation has required that Lynnwood High School have water pumps working full time to remove excess water.
