The KC Space Pirates is a team that competed in the 2006 Space Elevator Games beamed energy climber competition and is now entered in the 2007 competition. The team is affiliated with, but is not sponsored by the KC Robotics Society

The competition is put on by the Spaceward Foundation. The goal of the competition is to encourage universities and groups to research and create designs for the climber units of a proposed future space elevator. NASA has put up the top prize of $500,000US.

The competition is in the form of a race, 100 meters straight up. The climbers are unmanned, have a maximum allowed weight of of 25 kg (60 lbs), and may not contain no fuel or batteries - they must be only powered only by beamed energy. The KC Space Pirates used sunlight reflected off of an array of mirrors concentrated into a parabolic collector of solar cells to power their climber.

The KC Space Pirates did well in in 2006 but fell short of the money.
