This is the Way or Tariqah of the Saadah Aal Abi Alawi or the Sayyids of the Family of BaAlawi in Hadhramaut, South Yemen.

The one who lead the way was Al-Faqih Muqaddam As-Sayyid Muhammad bin Ali BaAlawi Al-Husaini (d 653H/1232CE) who received his initiation (ijazah libas) from Syaikh Abu Madyan in Morocco through two of his students. One died on the way to Yemen.

Syaikh Abu Madyan took his tariqah from Syaikh Abdul Qadir al-Jailani. Syaikh Abu Madyan is also one among the syaikhs in the Shadhiliyyah order.
