                             STORY OF THE WEEK 
                               KADAM (STEP)
                     
                     (A short story inspired by a true story)

                     Himani was youngest daughter of a landlord. In three sisters and a brother six months old Himani was too beautiful. Her father loved him very much. She was too beautiful and soft that he uses to fear even to touch her. She is just like a beautiful Rose Bud. Her father wanted to give his daughter a life of princess. Just opposite Himani’s fate was laughing on her future. 
                                        Unfortunely her father died before time. Himani’s mother was very much disappointed with this happening. Heaving Himani in her lap she was use to weeping on her fate and Himani’s dress become wet with her mother’s tears. Himani’s mother was totally depending on her son and he was depending on her wife because of his spoiled character. Himani’s sisters were married now. Himani was a daughter of landlord by name only, in place to live a life like princess as his father wanted, she was suffering from a difficult life. She and her mother were depended on her brother and her wife. Now Himani was a young and beautiful girl living at the upper part of her father’s big house with her old mother. Both mother and daughter were spending their life like poor. Whenever Himani saw he friends in expensive clothes and ornaments, she was thinking when she will be marrying with her dream prince then she will fulfill her every desire.
                                                 One day Himani get married with a middle class man. He was an officer and posted in a Metro city. Himani wanted a beautiful dress for the occasion. Her sister and some friends were decided to help her to make her desired dress. Himani was happy with her married life she was doing as she wanted to be. She had a beautiful daughter now and her beauty was at the peak of her life. 
                                                Suddenly her husband died in a Heart Attack. Himani came back in her small town with her daughter and savings of her husband. Her life was becoming too difficult again. Her circumstances were making him conservative. She didn’t want to come out from her past married life which was too short. She was loosing her balance of mind. Whenever her sisters wanted to help her she ignores them due to fear of loosing her money. She saw to every one with doubtfully. In short she was feeling insecure. She decided to live in her limited circle with her daughter named Rita. There was a very small earning from her deposits, but it was enough for both of them. She spends 25 years of her life in limited surroundings. Her sisters and friends were not very close to her. They had limited terms with her because of her doubtful nature. Rita was also like her mother. 
                                         One day a boy came in Rita’s life. Himani was also very impressed with him. She decided to marry her daughter with that boy. Rita got married with that boy and he came to live with them. Himani’s was life becoming easier now, but she lost her beauty in last 25 years. She was satisfied with her daughter’s life. Rita is now mother of a baby girl. 
                                            Six years later one day Rita’s husband died in an accident. Rita’s life turned back to her mother’s life Sorrows were around their life. Rita was not an in depended girl she was unable to earn her bread and butter easily. There were three females in a house who had not a broad circle, living in their limited relations. Their life was becoming burden for them. They lost every thing in life. Some of her friends and relatives gave them advice for Rita’s Re-marriage. She was already disappointed with her life that’s why she agreed to marry. Once again she became a bride. Her (Himani’s) decision was perfect this time. Rita’s husband was very good. Their life was became full of happiness and easy to live.
                                         Himani was happy with her daughter’s life but there was a very big complains with her. Why she had not took this step in her life after the death of her husband. Now it was too late.
