In 2007, The Greene County Daily World gave it's website a new look and added a feature that allows readers to respond to its stories. This feature is so poorly moderated it is nearly useless for those looking to discuss their thoughts on the topics in any meaningful way. Many non-offensive comments that fairly criticize what is reported are deleted leaving mostly praise and agreement misleading its readers.

'''Support of corrupt officials and allegations of descrimination'''.

----

Controversy has long plagued the Daily World. In July 2007, Nick Schnieder, a long time editor at the paper, wrote several editorials in support of ousted local officials accused of corrupt activities. The allegations go as far as to suggest that the paper does not report news that might blemish the reputation of politicians in the community: even at the expence of the public good.

Allegations of sexism in management at the paper also arose in August of 2007. These charges stem from facts showing that several bright, qualified, educated, and competent females work as reporters, sales people, and secretaries at the paper; yet no female holds a senior editor position. There are also no minority reporters or sales people employed as of August of 2007.

More allegations have also surfaced about the papers involvement supporting the counties debunct animal control system. These charges suggest that they ignored reports of atrocious conditions at the animal shelter by not writing articles that would cast a negative light on activities there while it was being ran by Andrea Mc Cann, an employee of the paper.
