Mike Freeman is a national columnist for CBSSports.com. He has previously worked for the New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Dallas Morning News and Florida Times-Union. In January 2004, he admitted that he was lying on his resume about earning a degree in journalism and was fired from his job at the Indianapolis Star.[1]. On Nov. 26, 2007 Freeman wrote an article entitled, "Give me Trojans-Buckeyes over a Missouri-West Virginia snoozefest" in which he mocked West Viriginia and Missouri, calling them "hicks and heehaws" and was making incest remarks. [2] This ensued a major uproar of such a magnitude that there were newstories done concerning the article [3] [4][5] There is even a report that West Virigina Governor Joe Manchin is going to sue Mike Freeman and CBS for his comments [6]An online petition has been written by Damian M. Berry that is calling for Freeman's termination. [7]
