Powelliphanta traversi, known as one of the amber snails, is a species of large, carnivorous land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Rhytididae.
Distribution
This species is endemic to the North Island of New Zealand between Wellington and Lake Waikaremoana.
There are six subspecies:
- Powelliphanta traversi florida Powell, 1946
- Powelliphanta traversi latizona Powell, 1949
- Powelliphanta traversi koputaroa Powell, 1946
- Powelliphanta traversi otakia Powell, 1946
- Powelliphanta traversi tararuaensis Powell, 1938
