I added a little bit to the second paragraph, trying to mostly stress how Pimpbot has stuck with their original material. I also contrasted their often humorous lyrics to their very real talent!

Pimpbot

Pimpbot is a ska punk band from Waikiki. Formed in 2001, the band is currently composed of Fernando Pacheco (lead vocals, trombone, tuba), Tom Coleman (backing vocals, guitar), Rylan Yee (bass), and Eric Lagrimas (drums, flutophone), who are graduates of the University of Hawaii and Berklee College of Music. Past members include Joel Tokunaga (guitar), Shannon Ogura(bass), Alex Nagata (drums), Chris LaPan (backing vocals, drums), and Mike Lewis (bass).

The band incorporates a humorous aspect to their lyrics while still maintaining serious and respectably talented music. Blending influences of reggae, dance rock, hard-core and rocksteady, the band is a local favorite, playing at many Honolulu hotspots. However, the band has gained national and international acclaim, and has completed three tours of the Western U.S. Pimpbot prides itself in keeping a true sound that, although versatile, can stand independent from public influence. This is one of the reasons that the band currently remains unsigned.

First known as the Honolulu Pub All-Stars, Pimpbot got their name from a character in a recurring skit on the Late Night with Conan O'Brien TV show.[1]

Their upcoming second full-length release, "AdmitOne," is due out in Spring 2008.[2]
