Sue Ramsey Johnston Ferguson (1897-1977) was an educational and political leader in the Democratic Party of North Carolina. She graduated from Woman's College (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro) in 1918 and received her master's degree from Columbia University. She married Raymond S. Ferguson in 1934.

Ferguson served as a trustee of the University of North Carolina and a member of the North Carolina State Board of Education from the 7th district. From 1947 to 1949 she was State Senator from the 28th district of North Carolina. During her years in the state legislature Feguson proposed that a committee be set up to investigate the state school system in North Carolina. As a result, the State Education Commission was formed.
