Today

only one of these towers remains standing today as the ballymun regeneration programmes did not incorporate the towers into its renewal programme. In 2004 demolition of the first tower began,Patrick pearse tower was demolished slowly by mechanical means, whilst MacDermott And Macdonagh Towers Were demolished by controlled implosion, Ceannt,Clarke and Connolly towers were demolished by mechanical means also. Joseph plunkett tower is the only original ballymun tower standing and a petition is now being drawn up to save it from demolition and to leave it as is for all those who have had and have the repected desire of living there.
