Ingolstadt is located along the banks of the Danube River in the Federal State of Bavaria, Germany. As of July 31, 2001 it had 119,293 residents registered, making it the sixth largest city in Bavaria.

The headquarters of the German automobile manufacturer Audi are located in Ingolstadt.
