Lifeboat Luke is an animated 52x5 min TV action adventure series set in the magical town of Donaghadoo.[1] It is directed by Alastair McIlwain and produced by Richard Morss.[2]

The search and rescue series for 4-7 year olds[2] is fast, fun, full of visual jokes and eccentric characters with strong sea safety messages for children running through the episodes.

Lifeboat Luke is the first 52 part animation series to be originated and produced in Northern Ireland and has been financed through a combination of private investment and other investors including The Northern Ireland Film and TV Commission's Lottery Production Fund [1] including the Irish Film Board, the Broadcast Commission Ireland Sound & Vision[3], Northern Ireland Screen Commission, Banjax Studios, and RTÉ[4]. The series is a co-production with Kavaleer in Dublin.[3]

Luke the Lifeboat Ltd, producers of the series, recently announced an exclusive partnership with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

Production services on the first 13 episodes were facilitated by Banjax Studios with LTL Production, based in Holywood, Northern Ireland, facilitating production on the remaining 39 episodes.
