Jessica Valenti (born November 1, 1978) is a blogger and feminist writer from New York, and is presently the Executive Editor of Feministing.com, a feminist website she founded. Jessica received her master's degree in Women's and Gender Studies from Rutgers University[1], has blogged for NARAL Pro-Choice America [2] and worked as a freelance contributor for Ms. magazine[3]. Her work has been featured in The Guardian, The Nation, TPMCafe, Guernica Magazine, and Alternet.[4]
Activities
Jessica had essays published on the compilations We Don't Need Another Wave[5] and Single State of the Union[6]. She has written as a freelancer for Ms. magazine[3], Salon, The Guardian (UK), The Nation, Alternet, The Scholar & Feminist and Guernica[4].
Valenti first book, Full Frontal Feminism: A Young Woman's Guide to Why Feminism Matters, was published in March 2007 by Seal Press[7]. She appeared on The Colbert Report on June 5, 2007 to promote her book.[8]
