Poisson Hidden Markov Models (PHMM)

Poisson hidden Markov models are a special case of hidden Markov models where a Poisson process is associated with different states of a Markov model. PHMMs are not necessarily a Markovian Process themselves because the underlying Markov chain cannot be observed and only the Poisson signal is observed.
