Butler High School is part of Vandalia-Butler City Schools located in Vandalia, Ohio. The school mascot is the aviator. The mission at Butler High School is to learn and prepare for the future by focusing on communication, dedication and teamwork. Butler has been rated as "Excellent" since 2002 by the Ohio Department of Education. The school met all 12 of the state indicators for the 2005-2006 school year.[1].

- Maria Lauterbach, a Marine who's murder in 2007 made national headlines.
- John Goldsberry, basketball player for the Brose Baskets based in Bamberg, Franconia. Played college basketball for the UNCW Seahawks.
