Tergipedidae is a family of seaslugs, aeolid nudibranchs, marine opisthobranch gastropod mollusks in the clade Nudibranchia (according to the taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005).
Taxonomy
The Tergipedidae family is classified within the subclade Aeolidida, itself belonging to the clade Cladobranchia within the clade Nudibranchia (according to the taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005).
The family Tergipedidae consists of the following subfamilies:
- Tergipedinae Bergh, 1889
- Cuthoninae Odhner, 1934 - synonym: Trinchesiidae F. Nordsieck, 1972
- Precuthoninae Odhner, 1938 - synonym: Cuthonellinae M. C. Miller, 1977
Genera
The type genus is Tergipes Cuvier, 1805.
