It has been one of the three dominating Macedonian handball clubs since the independence of the country in 1992, winning 5 Macedonian tittles in the 90's and has regularly represented the country on the international level in the European cup competitions. RK Pelister has participated in the EHF Champions League and Cup Winner's Cup five times each and in the EHF Challenge Cup and EHF Cup twice. It is also the only Macedonian men's handball club to make it to a European Cup final, back in 2001/02 when they played Skjern Handball in the EHF Challenge Cup.
