Brief Description

Hoyt Webb Lark was a republican mayor born in 1893 in Cranston, Rhode Island[1]. He grew up in the Rhode Island area, marrying Helen Crooker, fathering Dana Webb Lark. Hoyt attended smaller elementary schools in the Rhode Island area before going on to graduate at Harvard University in Business Administration and Law. After graduating from Harvard Hoyt went on to become the Mayor of Cranston and eventually was in contention for a seat in the senate in the early 1940's. Hoyt eventually lost office because of controversial opinions and attempts to downsize the criminal activity in the mob run business sectors of Cranston and Rhode Island.[2] After being voted out of office Hoyt continued as a Judge and a Lawyer in Cranston, until his eventual death in 1971[3].
