After a good start to his international career at a very young age, Mohammad Wasim went through a long string of low scores which lead to the loss of his place in the national squad. The Pakistan cricket board then experimented with many opening batsmen but like Wasim no opener has since been able to cement his place in team.

Mohammad Wasim (born August 8, 1977, Rawalpindi, Punjab) is a Pakistani cricketer who played in 18 Tests and 25 ODIs from 1996 to 2000.

He scored two Test centuries for Pakistan including one on Test debut.
