Zegalerus crater is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Calyptraeidae.
Distribution
Zegalerus crater is endemic to New Zealand, found at Hawkes Bay in the North Island and at the Chatham Islands. The Chatham Islands specimens may be derived fossils.
Description
The shell is large compared to Zegalerus terraenovae, but not so elevated, and with almost straight sides.
The shell height is up to 16 mm, and width up to 34 mm.
